Which one Should I update First?

Since Aadhaar is mandatory to perform any correction of your PAN data So, It is necessary to keep your Aadhaar details correct before opting for online PAN correction services.

How do I Change my name on Aadhar card?

Step 1: Visit the UIDAI website.

Step 2: Scroll down to the “Update Aadhaar” section and click on the “Update Demographics Data Online”.

Step 3: On the next window click on the “Proceed to Update Aadhar” button.

Step 4: Enter your Aadhaar number and Captcha.

Step 5: Click on “Send OTP” to receive OTP on your registered mobile number.

Step 6: Enter OTP and Click on the “login” button to log in to the Update Portal.

Step 7: Select “Name” from the Options and click “proceed”.

Step 8: It will display a notice, tick the “Yes” square and click on the “proceed” button.

Step 9: Now, enter your correct name in the given field.

Step 10: Select the supporting document you want to upload and have your correct name.

Step 11: Upload the selected document, which should be in JPEG, PNG & PDF format.

Step 12: Click on the “Preview” button.

Step 13: Preview your name and document, if correct then enter the captcha and click the “sent OTP” button.

Step 14: Enter OTP and Click on the “Make Payment” button to make Payment.

Step 15: After successful payment, An SMS will be sent to the registered mobile number with the URN number which can be further used to track the update status.

You can also download the payment receipt which will contain the URN number and transaction details for future use. This process takes around 2 weeks to 4 weeks or maybe more, depends on the number of requests made.

**You may not receive any notification after the update is completed.

How do I change my name on PAN card?

To change your name on your PAN card currently, we have two service providers “UTIITSL & NSDL” and processes on both the platforms are almost the same. We will be discussing both the process one by one.

How do I change my name through UTIITSL portal?

Step 1: Visit UTIITSL’s PAN online services portal.

Step 2: Click on (click to apply) under “Change/Correction in PAN Card”.

Step 3: On the next window click on ” Apply for Change/Correction in PAN Card details”.

Step 4: Select the (●)Digital (Paperless) option and tick “Aadhaar based e-KYC option” select again (●) “Sign Using Aadhaar based eSign”.

Step 5: Enter your PAN and reenter your PAN for verification.

Step 6: Select whether you want (●) e-PAN only or (●) Both physical and e-PAN and click on the “Submit” button.

Step 7: Perform the following tasks on the next window and click the “Next step” button

» Select Your Title

» Enter the Last Name

» Select Name of Parent would like it printed On Card

» Select Parent Name On Card

» Enter Father’s Last Name

» Enter Date of Birth /Date of Incorporation

» Select your Gender

» Enter Aadhaar Number and Name on Aadhaar

Step 8: After completing the following tasks on the next window click on the “Next Step” button.

» select Country Code(ISD Code)

» Enter Telephone/Mobile number

» Enter Email ID

Step 9: On the next window fill up the verification form, then click “Next step”.

**To change your name tick the “mention other allotted PAN” and enter your PAN. On the next screen Select (●) Change in Name option, Select Aadhaar for POA, POI and PODOB. Along with a PAN copy, you will need to upload a proof of “name change” document and a Proof of Father’s Name document too.**

Step 11: Select a copy of PAN or copy of PAN Allotment letter as PAN Proof and upload the document.

Step 12: Click on the “submit” button to submit and make payment.

Step 13: On the next screen, you will receive Application No./Coupon No. which can be further used for tracking and now click on the ” make payment” button to make the payment.

After payment is done successfully you will be able to download the payment receipt and after 5 to 7 working days, you shall be receiving the updated e-PAN via email.

How do I change my name through NSDL portal?

Step 1: Visit NSDL’s PAN online services portal.

Step 2: Select Application Type “Changes or Correction in existing PAN Data”, Select Category “INDIVIDUAL”.

Step 3: Select Your Title then enter your credentials (Last Name, First Name, Middle Name, Date of Birth, Email ID and Mobile Number) and click on “Submit”

Step 4: Select “Submit digitally through e-KYC & e-sign” and enter your Personal details on the next window and click “Submit”.

Step 5: Select country code, enter mobile number and email id then click “Next”.

Step 6: Enter the first 8 numbers of Aadhaar and click “Next”.

Step 7: Fill up the declaration form and click “Proceed”.

Step 8: Select the documents you need to upload and upload them.

Step 9: Preview your form and provide Aadhar Authentication.
