OnePlus launched it’s 9 series on 23rd March 2021. Since it is their 8th year in the smartphone market, OnePlus is well known for their flagship killers which made them one of the popular smartphone brands in the world. This year they signed a partnership contract with the famous camera manufacturer brand and the contract period is going to be for 3 years. So, tech enthusiasts are hoping for a better camera module in the coming years.
Just like the last year OnePlus 9 series comes with three smartphones, 9 Pro being the top of the line equipped with Snapdragon 888 processor followed by 9 which is a slightly downgraded variant of 9 Pro and at last the 9R being the lowest variant of the line. The 9R comes with a Snapdragon 870 SoC and all of them are 5G enabled. But the 9R support only one 5G band (N78) where’s both 9 and 9 Pro comes with two 5G bands (N41 & N78).
Following the trend 9 series comes with a 120 Hz Fluid AMOLED and Corning Gorilla Glass protection, 9 Pro has 6.7 inches with a resolution of 3216 X 1440 pixels UHD where as 9 and 9 R has 6.55 inches with 2400 X 1080 pixels.
In the camera section both 9 Pro and 9R comes with a quad rear camera set up (yeah! You read it right 9 Pro & 9R) and the 9 with a triple rear camera set up. Although they all are different in spaces as the OnePlus 9 Pro comes with a 48 MP Sony IMX789 of f/1.8 Main sensor (OIS), 50 MP Sony IMX766 f/2.2 Ultra-Wide sensor, 8 MP f/2.4 Telephoto sensor (OIS) and a 2 MP Monochrome sensor. On the other hand, the OnePlus 9 comes with a 48 MP Sony IMX689 of f/1.8 Main sensor, 50 MP Sony IMX766 f/2.2 Ultra-Wide sensor and a 2 MP Monochrome sensor. The 9R is equipped with a 48 MP Sony IMX586 of f/1.7 Main sensor with OIS, 16 MP Ultra-Wide sensor, 5 MP Macro and 2 MP Monochrome Lens. The key difference between these three is that both 9Pro and 9R has OIS in their main sensor and 9 don’t 9 also misses the telephoto lens and the same is replaced with macro in 9R. The 9 and 9 Pro can record 8K video at 30 fps max and the 9R max outs at 4k 60 fps. In the Front Camera department all three are equipped with same Sony IMX471 16 MP Fixed focus f/2.4 sensor.
Coming to the Battery capacity, all of them comes with a 4,500 mAh battery and a 65W Warp Charger included in the box. Only OnePlus 9 Pro comes with 50W Wireless charging support. OnePlus 9 Pro also comes with iP68 water and dust resistant protection.
The 9 R is priced at Rs.39,999 (8GB/128GB) and Rs. Rs.43,999 (12GB/256GB), 9 is priced at Rs.49,999 (8GB/128GB) and Rs. Rs.54,999 (12GB/256GB) ant the 9 pro is priced at Rs.64,999 (8GB/128GB) and Rs. Rs.69,999 (12GB/256GB).
For conclusion the OnePlus 9R Semes to be the best value for money where as the 9 pro being the a slightly fair upgrade from last gen 8 pro and talking about 9, it sits in the middle to fill the gap. Good thing with OnePlus is that, You still get a Charger in the box.😜
